The Tours

*** No tours from January 23rd, 2019 to January 28, 2019 ***

“I would never have entered this place if I passed by myself”, “Hidden gem in plain sight”, “We came back there the next day”,  “He promised squirrels, and he delivered!”.  Just some of the comments I get from time to time during the tours.

After many years of writing about eating in NYC, in the summer of 2016, I decided to design my own food tours in my hometown.  All tours conducted by me, a licensed sightseeing guide with the city of NY.  The tours are mainly private or with very small groups.  That intimate nature enables us to experience NY in a very unique way.

The food choices are just some of my favorite places I’ve been enjoying for years.  Other tours (which I had to take in order to become licensed) build strategic relationships with the vendors, regardless of quality in many cases.  Besides eating great food, we will also explore my favorite neighborhoods, while hearing stories that will bring those areas to life.  But at the end of the day, it will feel like you are hanging out with a new local friend.  Someone who happens to know a little bit something about NYC’s food scene.

Note:  To book a tour, simply send me your dates, along with the number of people and tour preference if you have one.  There’s no set schedule.  Tours are scheduled on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.  Use the contact form, or send an email to

Brooklyn Tour – Update:  Take a look at the new FAQ about the tour

We meet in downtown Manhattan and travel through Brooklyn like no other tour company does to my knowledge.  We will explore the most distinct, ethnic, and in some cases picturesque neighborhoods like Red Hook, Sunset Park (Home to our biggest Chinatown), Coney Island, Brighton Beach, Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn Heights, Historic Prospect Park South (if we time), and Dyker Heights (December for the Xmas lights).  We will see the real Brooklyn, and taste some wonderful stuff at extreme local places.  All in a comfortable SUV.  Other tours just drive around from one pizza place to another fooling tourists into believing they cant get better pizza in Manhattan.  We finish in Brooklyn Heights or Dumbo near the subway station most convenient to you at around 5pm, though many prefer to walk Brooklyn Bridge back.  Start and finish locations are very convenient to most Subways, about 15-30 minutes from most hotels.
